Ensuring a Safe Experience: Tips and Guidelines

If I’m planning a moms’, ladies’, or friends’ night out in the future, Dr. Kalia has helped me put together nine important safety tips to ensure I have the best and safest night out I possibly can.

1. Stay together with my friends

Keeping your friends close is essential for safety, whether you are on the subway or the dance floor.

If drinking is involved, it is important to ensure there is at least one person designated as a driver who can help ensure everyone gets home safely. It might not be the most exciting role, but having at least one sober person can deter others from taking advantage of anyone in the group.

2. Be alert

Always be aware of your surroundings.

If you notice someone is making you uncomfortable or if you are not feeling safe in the place, do let your friends or the bartender know and move to another location.

3. Guard your drinks

When I’m out dancing and having a good time, it’s easy to forget about your unattended drinks on a table or bar, which is an opportunity for someone to slip a drug into your drink, making you an easier target for harm.

Thus, remember to make a habit of taking your drinks with you or buying a new one each time.

Avoid accepting pre-made drinks from strangers. If someone wants to buy you a drink, you should go to the bar and watch the bartender pour it for me.

4. Learn to recognize the signs of being drugged

There are drugs, often referred to as “date rape drugs,” that can be slipped into a person’s drink without their knowledge.

If you or a friend is suspected of being drugged, we should head to the hospital immediately. Early testing can help clarify what happened.

5. Drink responsibly

While drinking, try to pace yourself and avoid “chucking” down your drink quickly.

Also, ensuring you have eaten something beforehand and stay hydrated with water throughout the night can help stave off a hangover the next day.

6. Be cautious about what, where and when you post on social media

It is not safe to post where you are going or where you are currently. Posting my location live is like an open invitation for others to find me and making you a vulnerable target.

Perhaps, you should wait until you have left to post photos or videos.

7. Consider downloading a personal safety app

Using apps like Find My on iPhones or sharing my location with family via WhatsApp can ensure that my loved ones know where I am.

Conclusion

In this guide, we’ve covered a range of rooftop bars in Singapore, from well-known spots like Smoke and Mirrors to hidden finds like Sugarhall. Each spot boasts its own charm, offering stunning city vistas, enticing menus, and special promotions.

I can promise you that Singapore’s rooftop bars guarantee unforgettable evenings against stunning backdrops and lively atmospheres. Whether perched atop skyscrapers or nestled in historic areas, these venues beckon you to enjoy the city’s allure under the night sky.
