20 Finest & Best High Tea Spots in Singapore

By Meghan Wong Last updated April 28, 2024
Best High Tea Spots in Singapore

It is undoubtedly extremely British to have a cup of tea and some cookies for tea time. Honestly though, I love the fact that since they left, high tea in Singapore has turned into a fusion of affairs that pays homage to its roots but also clubs all the niceties our mixed culture has to offer.

The best part is we get another reason to hang out with delicious food and spend a good time with family and friends. Now, there are an abundance of places that offer wonderful high tea in Singapore.

Instead of having to test them all, I have taken the lead to put together this guide that is carefully categorised so that you can pick your preference and try them too! Feast at some of these finest places offering high tea in Singapore.

Classic High Tea Experiences

1. The Grand Lobby at Raffles Hotel Singapore

The Grand Lobby at Raffles Hotel Singapore

Elegant, fresh and a little blast from the past, experience a classic high tea spread in Singapore at The Grand Lobby. Select their decadent Chocolate Afternoon Tea (S$98) for an exquisite set of scones, finger sandwiches and other sweet treats featuring 68% dark chocolate.

For a limited time between 25th March and 28th April, try their Sakura Afternoon Tea, featuring delectable Japanese desserts, home-baked scones and savoury items (S$108).

2. Atlas

Atlas

Another high tea Singapore place that is known to serve classic sets for you to try! What I loved about Atlas is the luxurious 1920s inspired environment which undoubtedly will transport you back to the British times.

As for their selection of delectables on tiered plates, both sweet and savoury bites are presented beautifully for a mere S$65. The selection of tea that is available is a long list which is rather a rare sight. I went for ‘Tisane’ tea which was an infusion of flowers and mint with sweet lemon balm.

If you feel like having some bubbles then upgrade to the champagne selection by the glass or bottle. Or, go for their ‘An Atlas Suite’, a flight of three petite martinis. It is 5’o clock somewhere!

Immerse yourself at Window on the Park, serving you a traditional experience of having high tea in Singapore. Located at the Holiday-Inn, this is the place to gather for high tea in Singapore with your muslim friends as they are certified halal!

Their three tiers are filled with over 20 types of delectables like tuna mayo profiteroles,

smoked chicken mousse on focaccia bread and Earl Grey caramel swiss roll (my personal fav!).

Take note, though, that from 25th Feb to 10th April, they are serving a berry-themed high tea where the entire menu is inspired by sweet berries. They are also offering a sweet deal of 1-for-1 where this high tea Singapore set will only cost you S$78 for two! What a steal!

At S$98, you get an unlimited refill of selected TWG tea and coffee. Their savoury bites include items like Quail Egg Quiche and Mini Boston Lobster Rolls. Cultural Fusion High Tea

9. The Lobby Lounge at InterContinental Singapore

The Lobby Lounge at InterContinental Singapore

Perhaps my favourite part of high tea in Singapore is the fact that there are many available with a fusion menu. At the Lobby lounge expect to devour some of the best pastries and traditional ‘kuih’ you would find on the streets of Lion city, just elevated.

Called the Tea Garden Afternoon Tea, every bite is a surprise as the bite-sized treats are all infused with tea! My personal favourite was their Green Tea Blossom Jelly and Bak Kwa Brioche Bun. All this for S$48 which also comes with free flow of teas and coffee.

Lobby lounge is also having a 25% promotional deal until 31st of March on their afternoon tea set. Talk about affordable!

A burst of flavours, this high tea called Spring Blossom Afternoon Tea Set at S$78 offers both sweet and savoury items. My favourite pick is their Mala Duck Kueh Pie Tee and Mini Yuzu Chocolate Cake. This set comes with two pots of artisan tea or has the option of upgrading to Rose or a glass of Lychee Prosecco.

Their current Spring Blossom menu only is available until the 30th of April so hurry up before it gets replaced!

Ginger.Lily at Hilton Singapore Orchard

Named after its decor inspiration, Ginger Lily will provide you anything but the ordinary experience with high tea in Singapore.

Their standard high tea set is inspired by native herbs, flowers and spices. You will find yourself biting into the most scrumptious delights like Blue Hibiscus Bars.

What steals the show, however, is their Nikkei-inspired high tea set, influenced by the flavours of Nikkei cuisine, a delicious blend of Japanese and Peruvian dishes. These plated tiers are filled with Nikkei-inspired savouries like Nikkei-styled salmon and white fish served with aji amarillo sauce, as well as sweet bites like Mikan Cacao Pepper Choux or “Strawberry” Miso Tart.

The Nikkei high tea in Singapore will cost you around S$68 per person while their standard set will cost you around S$58.

14. The Coastal Settlement

The Coastal Settlement

I would imagine the afternoon tea affair to be one that is not consumed alone so the minimum cap imposed at the Coastal Settlement is not one you need to pay any heed to. Rather it is how affordable they have made their afternoon tea set.

For two people, you can get away with spending around S$19 per person and be served with a free flow of coffee or tea, and bite-sized local delights like beef rendang, siew mai, and prawn crackers, along with assorted cakes and pastries.

20. Anti:dote at The Fairmont

Anti.dote at The Fairmont

Always known to be a cocktail bar, Anti:dote at The Fairmont squeezes in some fun themed afternoon tea sessions that change pretty frequently.

At the moment, you can experience their high tea in Singapore through their Adventures in Storyland – A Cinderella High Tea in collaboration with the British Library. Again, forget about receiving your afternoon delights on a tiered platter, rather, be ready to grab them off from a small boxed drawer with every compartment filled with different delights!

My favourite here was definitely their Boston Lobster and Duck Confit for the savoury items. As for the sweet items, there were loads of options like pumpkin and cinnamon tea cakes, scones, Nespresso coffee hazelnut choux, to name a few.

Conclusion

I’ve only covered what I personally felt would be worth your time and money in this article, because the truth is, options are plenty when it comes to high tea in Singapore!

Personally, if I had to return back to any place again on this list, my top pick would be Anti:dote at The Fairmont. What I love about this place is the surprise factor as they constantly change their menu, and therefore, I will get a chance to try many different varieties of bite-sized delights every time!

However, it does come with a slightly heftier price tag and so I would also highly consider going to Wildseed Cafe as my second option mostly because it’s pocket friendly and the food is equally delicious! I also love that the ambiance is very peaceful – a great place to just chat away with your loved ones!

Whatever your preference might be, I do believe you might find it in this article! But if savory delights are more your style, dive into our guide to the 10 Best Chili Crab in Singapore!
