8 Places in KL to Try Out Horse Riding in 2025

It’s a brand new year, so why not try something new and different to kick it off?

My motto this year is to try and learn new things and have new experiences. Whether it’s a new hobby like pottery or even a new sport, I’m giving it my 100%!

When a friend suggested we try horse riding, I was super excited. Although I thought it might be harder to find a horse riding spot in Malaysia, I was surprised to find plenty of options, even around KL.

That said, all good things are meant to be shared, so I put this article together so that you can check them out and try horse riding!

What to Expect in Your First Horse Riding Experience?

  • Safety is a top priority. Listen to the instructor’s briefing and wear all the safety gear provided when you arrive. You should also wear comfortable clothes, such as long pants and shoes.
  • Take it slow and easy: Horses are sensitive animals, so most instructors will introduce you to them. Stay calm and confident.
  • Hydrate for the weather: Many stables are outdoors, so be sure to stay hydrated and don’t forget your sunscreen!
  • Keep an open mind. Enjoy the ride and your connection with the horse. If you feel uncomfortable, do not hesitate to check in with your instructor.

Choosing The Right Place For Horse Riding

If this is the first time you’ve tried out horse riding, then choosing a spot might be a little tricky. Here are some of the things to keep in mind when selecting a horse riding place :

Proximity

Choose a stable that is relatively closer to where you live. This will simply help you travel less, especially after a tiring day of horse riding, since weather can play a big component in horse riding activity.

Services Provided

Not all stables in Malaysia offer joyrides. Some stables are geared towards professionals practising or students learning.

All the stables listed in this article offer joyrides. However, before choosing any other stable, check thoroughly to see if they accept first-timers or offer joyride services.

Cost

Horse riding prices can vary according to location. Some stables offer attractive packages, so it is worth considering whether buying a package makes more sense than paying a one-time fee.

Conclusion

Horse lovers always say horses are magical creatures, making me want to try horse riding for a while.

Now that I have tried them, I genuinely believe they are magical! Not only did this activity make me try something new, but it also connected me to nature and offered a truly relaxing break from city life.

If and when you try horse riding yourself, remember to consider some critical factors before choosing a stable. Most of the options listed in this article are beginner and cost-friendly.

So, I hope you try horse riding in KL and get to try something different this year!
